Seven women promoted at General Atlantic
General Atlantic promotes Melis Kahya Akar, Anna Golynskaya, Caroline Woodworth, Sofia Garrido Freyria, Nadia Hadi, Zoe Shi and Yumeng Wang.
Melis and Anna are set to become managing directors on Jan. 1, joining Pamela Fang as the only women at the firm with that title.
Based in London, Melis leads General Atlantic’s consumer investments across EMEA, in addition to focusing on investments in Turkey. She serves on the boards of firm portfolio companies Depop, Gymshark, Joe & The Juice and SÉZANE. Melis joined General Atlantic in 2015 from TSG Consumer Partners.
Anna, who is in New York, focuses on the firm’s capital partnering efforts. She joined General Atlantic in 2014 from the private fund group at Credit Suisse.
Caroline was elevated to principal. Also in London, she focuses on investments in the financial services sector and is on the board of Hyperion Insurance Group. Caroline was also involved in the firm’s investments in Greensill, Network International, Qontigo and Riskified. She joined General Atlantic in 2015 from J.C. Flowers & Co.
Sofia, Nadia, Zoe and Yumeng are all set to become vice presidents.
