Goodman Gallery joins Cultivian Sandbox Ventures as managing director
Taryn Goodman Gallery leaves her role as the global food and agriculture sector lead for TPG’s Rise Fund to join Cultivian Sandbox Ventures. Taryn is now a managing director with the Chicago venture firm.
During her time leading the Rise Fund’s global food and agricultural investment strategy, Taryn sourced investments, executed transactions and advised portfolio companies. Prior to TPG, Taryn held leadership positions at NatureVest, The Nature Conservancy’s impact investing unit and at RSF Social Finance.
Cultivian Sandbox invests in tech startups focused on the food and agriculture industry. The firm invests across the full value chain of food and agriculture, from crop production and animal health to supply chain and food ingredients. It was created from a partnership between Cultivian Ventures and Sandbox Industries.
Earlier this year, one of the firm’s portfolio companies, enEvolv, a microbial screening and engineering startup, was acquired by venture-backed Zymergen, Inc.
The firm’s investments also include Nuritas, which was founded by Nora Khaldi and uses artificial intelligence to reinvent therapeutics.
Cultivian Sandbox’s team includes managing director Amanda Donohue-Hansen, who is on the board of FarmlandFinder and supports the firm’s investments in Conservis, Corvium, Culture Biosciences, Descartes Labs and Geltor. She previously held product management and business development roles at Cargill’s Food Ingredient business.
