Highland Europe closes its fourth fund – a fund that partner Irena Goldenberg and principal Helena Prokhorenko will be involved in deploying. The London and Geneva venture firm raised 700 million euros and will continue to focus on European software and Internet-enabled businesses.
Highland Europe’s third fund closed in 2018 at 463 million euros. Highland Europe was spun out of Highland Capital Partners in 2012 and now has raised 1.8 billion euros.
Irena joined Highland in 2007 from Flybridge Capital Partners and helped establish what became Highland Europe. Earlier this year, she led the firm into Supermetrics, a Finnish data integration company. Her portfolio also includes eGym, Jampp, Smartly.io, WeTransfer, Wolt, and Juniqe, whose co-founders include Lea Lange.
Helena, who joined the firm in 2016, was involved earlier this year in Highland’s investments in Meditopia, a mental health app for non-English speaking users, and Modulr, a digital payments company. She also works with Huel, Wolt and Zwift.
