Borchardt's raises $1.5 million in seed funding for Henry

Henry, a Latin American online computer science school co-founded by Luz Borchardt, plugs into funding. Henry, according to TechCrunch, raised $1.5 million from Accion Venture LabEmles Venture PartnersNoveus VC and a group of angels. Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Henry trains software developers from low-income backgrounds to learn technical skills and find jobs. The company’s classes run five months and take place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 pm. Students attend for free and then pay after getting a job. Luz founded Henry with her brother, Martin Borchardt, who is CEO, as well as Manuel Barna Ferrés, Antonio Tralice and Leonardo Maglia. It is trying to fill a huge gap, as it estimates that there are fewer than 100,000 professionals for the estimated 1 million software engineering job openings in Latin America.
