EQT Ventures’ Rania Belkahia makes the firm’s first investment since opening its office in France. EQT Ventures led Luko’s 50 million euros Series B round, which also included existing investors Accel, Founders Fund, Speedinvest and Orange Ventures.
Based in Paris, Luko is an insurtech company that prioritizes social responsibility when protecting homes. Founded in 2018, it has more than 100,000 policyholders and employs 85 people. Luko’s offerings to customers include sensors to track water leakage and electrical consumption and a video consultation service focused on taking care of one’s home.
In a statement, Rania said Luko’s “mission to transform the future of homecare and protection through transformative technology, powered by a social conscience, really caught our eye.” She said EQT Ventures was “incredibly impressed” by Luko’s focus on “changing people’s perception of insurance from something arduous to truly positive.”
Rania joined EQT Ventures as a deal partner earlier this year after co-founding and leading Afrimarket, an e-commerce platform in West Africa.
